@IDOBIradio -Friday and Sunday Nights. Tuesday Morning at 11am EST

Ryan Holiday (@RyanHoliday) is a strategist and writer. He dropped out of college at 19 to apprentice under Robert Greene, author of The 48 Laws of Power, and later served as the director of marketing for American Apparel. His company, Brass Check, has advised clients like Google, Tim Ferriss, Tony Robbins, and Onnit and more. Holiday has written four previous books, including The Obstacle Is the Way, which has been translated into 17 languages and has a cult following among NFL coaches, world-class athletes, TV personalities, political leaders, and others around the world. Ryan lives on a small ranch outside of Austin, Texas, and his latest book is Ego Is The Enemy.

I met Ryan face to face in San Antonio, TX where my band was playing a show. He was very patient after the show waiting over an hour to come back and say hi. When I'm "working" is the worst and best time to meet people. I inevitably can't give much of myself to any one particular conversation or group of people. I usually like to hide away from everyone, not because I don't like people, I love them but I have to. Not only to warm up and prepare my voice and body for some serious punishment, the most important part for me is to have a clear and focused mind. I think about the performance, the audience, the elements. This is precisely the topics we discuss on this episode. How do you spend your time? Why is life so hard? What can you do to be better? How do you respond to constant inquiries? What does it take to be in the top levels of your field? Ryan is very aware of what it takes to get the deep work done. To truly focus in on something and execute. He also knows first hand the stress and mental anguish that these outside and inside pressures can cause. Ryan, just like me, is a survivor. Not from the holocaust or the reality show or even cancer.. but from this crazy life!!

Blue Apron

My family already is a devout customer of Blue Apron, to the point that I don't even like going out to dinner anymore, because my wife's cooking has been so on point in this last year + of cooking their meals.

I care about what I eat, which some of you may know if you've spent any time around me, and Blue Apron caters specifically to that.  They've put every thought into the real detail of their meals... ingredients.  They know that with incredible ingredients, comes incredible meals.  Their delivery service, straight from the farmers, ranchers, and fisheries, to your home, can be delivered to over 99% of the continental U.S. and 99.5% of food deserts.
